We've been spoiled by all the debuts of top prospects this season, most of whom have played well after their promotions; 35 of my preseason top 100 had reached the majors this season before Tuesday, when major league active rosters expanded from 25 players to 40. Only two top 100 prospects have been called up since rosters expanded, so I'll cover several other prospects and recently graduated players who returned to the majors this month.

New call-ups

Corey Seager, SS/3B, Los Angeles Dodgers: The best prospect left in the minors makes his long-awaited debut for the Dodgers, as injuries to Jose Peraza and Justin Turner created both the need and the opportunity.

At 6-foot-4, Seager is already the second-tallest shortstop in major league history, after Mike Morse -- I'll bet you don't remember Morse as a shortstop, probably because the human brain has the ability to block out traumatic memories. Seager won't be at the position for long, but he's a better option for the next few weeks than Jimmy Rollins. Seager can also slide to third when Rollins returns, with Turner and/or Peraza filling in at second. Seager has an outstanding swing, a very good eye at the plate and rapidly developing power, more than enough ability to outproduce the negative value Rollins' bat has generated this season.
