Scouting Double-A prospects Glasnow, Josh Bell, others

Right-hander Tyler Glasnow, the Pirates' top prospect coming into the year, missed about a month due to an ankle injury and returned to Double-A Altoona on Monday night for a start in Harrisburg against the Senators, a Nationals affiliate with a number of well-known prospects in their lineup. Glasnow started out fine, but the outing went south quickly for him and he ended up pitching himself out of the game in the fourth inning.

Glasnow was sitting at 95 mph in the first inning and showed an absolute hammer curveball at 78-80 mph with depth and very tight two-plane break, missing bats with both pitches early, as hitters didn't seem to pick up the fastball all night and had no shot at the breaking ball.
