The Mets get the corner bat they didn't need, in exchange for a valuable young player they wouldn't use. It's the second time in the past two trade deadlines that they appear to have undervalued prospects in their own system, and unlike the Yoenis Cespedes trade, this one, for Jay Bruce, seems very unlikely to make them better.
