Law: Scouting Yu Darvish as Dodgers gear up for October

As the Los Angeles Dodgers gear up for the postseason, I watched Yu Darvish pitch on Tuesday night in Philadelphia, and here's what I saw: Darvish pitches too much like a finesse guy for someone with his stuff. He touched 96 mph Tuesday night, generally reaching back for 94-plus when he needed to, but the majority of the time he pitched with a very ordinary 91-93 and worked away from contact, throwing about two-thirds off-speed pitches and spending way too much time attacking the outside corner to left-handed batters.

He has also all but abandoned his splitter post-Tommy John surgery and barely throws his changeup, leaving him to throw his assortment of breaking stuff to lefties in typical changeup/splitter counts.
